full-tilt-poker-largeWhen someone talks about a doubles tournament, you probably think they are talking about tennis. I know that is what I would think. Well, Full Tilt Poker recently completed the Full Tilt Poker Doubles Poker Championship. And the final three teams in the tournament were a pretty impressive group of poker professionals.

The three remaining teams were Huck Seed and Allen Cunningham, Howard Lederer and Phil Gordon, and Chris Ferguson and Phil Ivey. The first team to bust out was the team of Chris Ferguson and Phil Ivey.

They made it into the final three teams as the short stack and were never able to build up any momentum, even though both of those great players are expert at managing a small stack. They walked away with a third place prize of two hundred thousand dollars and probably went right out to find some action some place else. A good place to look online for the best action is at  onlinepoker.net.

That left the final two teams of Lederer and Gordon and Seed and Cunningham. In the final hand, Lederer and Gordon got all of their money into the pot with A? K? against Seed and Cunningham’s pocket jacks, disabled veterans. Lederer and Gordon got no help on the flop or the turn or the river and had to be satisfied with their second place finish that paid them a half of a million dollars.

I am certain that they both went off to find some more action after that big score and another good place to find great online action is at onlinecraps.net.

Huck Seed is a very tall man, standing better than six foot five inches tall. He was a star basketball player on the Caltech basketball team. He took a leave of absence, in 1989, from Caltech, where he was studying electrical engineering.

He started playing poker and has never looked back. Seed has four World Series of Poker bracelets including a Main Event World Championship bracelet from 1996 where he took home one million dollars. Seed recently won the World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions, which is a freeroll, for a prize of a half of a million dollars.

His total liver tournament winnings are almost eight million dollars which include thirty nine WSOP cashes and three World Poker Tour cashes. Seed is known for being a regular participant in various proposition bets.

Allen Cunningham dropped out of UCLA, where he was studying Civil Engineering, to become a professional poker player. It certainly worked out well for him because he has a total live tournament winnings of over ten million dollars. Cunningham finished fourth in the 2006 WSOP Main Event when he was busted by the eventual winner, Jaime Gold.

Gold was running so well and playing so well at the end of that tournament that nothing could stop him. Cunningham has five WSOP bracelets, forty two WSOP cashes, and twelve WPT cashes. While Allen Cunningham has a very low keyed personality, he has come to be a player to be feared at the poker tables.
